 Arrival, music scores

  • Arrival: On your arrival a guide will be there to greet you and accompany you during your stay at the festival thus giving you all the information needed.

  • Music scores: Upon your arrival at the college while the students are waiting in the bus, the conductor must bring at the welcome table, two (2) original copies of each piece to be performed. Other information will then be given.

General informations

        On the premises:

          Everyone is invited to all performances. There is no admission fee.

  • The festival offers evaluations of your performance with certificates identifying the level of performance (gold, silver or bronze) and work-shops given by reputable pedagogues. Copies of the program, a logo for each student, a group photo and a T-shirt will also be given. Each conductor will receive a cd of the performance of his group. This cd will also include the comments of one judge, the other evaluation to be given in writing.

  • Assigned room:  You will warm-up in your given class. You must be there 30 minutes before the performance.
 
  • Performance: Each group is allowed 30 minutes. This includes the stage setting, the presentation of the group, the time of performance and exit from the stage.
 
  • Schedule of performances: The performances will begin at 9 :00 A.M. and the last presentation of the day is scheduled at  18:00 P.M.
 
  • Jury: There will be two (2) evaluations for each performance. After the performance, one of the evaluators will work with each group to give suggestions and encouragement to the musicians and conductor.
 
  • Our evaluators: Each adjudicator has a pedagogical experience and has at heart the desire to help and guide the young musicians performing. You may find the list on our web site.
 
  • Prizes for the participants:  In collaboration with our sponsors, there will be given every day of the festival many prizes of 50$ to 100$ certificates drawn from  the participants. At the end MusicFest will draw from  all participants the name of 4 schools awarding each one a clinic under the direction of a reputable professional and presented in each of the 4 schools.
Beginning
  • Restaurants: The participants will have access to the cafeteria and casse-croûte of the college. Prices start at 3,95$ for a lunch to about 6,00$ for a complete meal, including taxes. There are large rooms available. Please advise your students that they must eat in one of these selected rooms. No food is allowed in the class rooms and performance rooms . It is your responsibility to keep all locals clean. There will be no cleaning service during the days of the festival. Please insist on the respect of these rules which are to the benefit of everyone.

  • Parking spaces are available.

 Take note: Please advise the bus driver that the motor of the bus must be shut off, thus respecting the surroundings. 

  • Before leaving do not forget to bring your documents and belongings.
